There's a difference between getting enough sleep and getting good sleep. You can spend 10 hours in bed every night and still get poor quality sleep, and this is not great for your depression symptoms or your overall health. Take these steps to enhance the quality of your sleep:
- Go to bed at the same time every night so that your body gets into a routine and you have an easier time falling asleep.
- Keep your room dark and cool. Most people sleep best under these conditions.
- Avoid staring at phone or computer screens for at least an hour before bed.
